Fox is reporting that Renault is considering reviving the Renault 5, known in the U.S. as the "Le Car". Our 1976 model lived up to its color, bright yellow. Its only saving grace was great gas mileage but it was the garage equivalent of a hangar queen, especially in its latter years.

Ah, the Le Car.

Friend of mine had one back in the college days. I can verify that if you're willing to get within a foot or so of a semi-trailer's bumper, the low-pressure zone behind the trailer will pull you along with no engine use required.

For the record, I was in the passenger seat.

It didn't help the car was driven by five teenagers, including one who insisted it be driven like the hot rod it wasn't. Nonetheless, the car was the wheels on several memorable occasions.

My best friend had one. The spare was atop the engine.

From what I understand, that was the only way you could get one to burn rubber...
