THOMAS FRIEDMAN, GASBAG OR USEFUL IDIOT?
This is his latest bloviation, courtesy of Hot Air. Friedman's fascination with Chinese totalitarian rule as a means of accomplishing "big things" is disturbing, to say the least. Never mind about the forced abortions and sterilizations under the "one-child policy", crushing of the 1989 democracy protesters, not to mention oppression of the the Falon Gong, the frequent saber rattling over Taiwan, or the persistent efforts to wipe out Tibetan culture.
I can't decide if he is more like the "fellow traveller" Fabian socialists of the interwar period or the Lefties who swooned over Stalin in the Thirties.
