Kind of reminds one of the way the press reported the outcome of their well-advertised recount of the Florida Presidential vote in 2000 to prove that the election was stolen: many months later a small story on page 15 of my local "kept press" admitted that W had actually won the Florida popular vote by more votes that the Republicans themselves had claimed.
