Here We Go......

Should ski helmets be compulsory?

The death of Natasha Richardson has sparked a debate about whether it should be mandatory for skiers and snowboarders to wear helmets.

There's been a sharp rise in the number of people wearing helmets after several high-profile ski accidents this winter and some compulsion has already come in.

Yup. In the New World Order, everything that is not forbidden will be mandatory.

Look, I feel badly for Richardson and for anyone else who gets injured, but whatever happened to the old-fashioned concept of assumption of the risk?

(Okay, okay. You can stop laughing now.)

We went through the same thing a decade ago when Sonny Bono died after a ski crash.

It'll pass.

If I were a ski instruction company operator, I would insist on helmets for all my clients and the instructors, just to avoid the liability. And I have no problem with any company that chooses to do that.

But for government to mandate this is creepy.
