Gratuitous Lunchtime Observation

Of course, I have only limited visibility, but from my little corner of downtown Dee Cee it looks like an awful lot of folks are headed for the March for Life down on the Mall.

God bless 'em.

I'm not much of an activist myself, but each year I increasingly feel that I really ought to go along myself. At the least, I'm participating in my parish's contribution to the Church's anti-FOCA postcard campaign this weekend.

When I lived in No. VA I would take the 22nd off and go protest in DC. I miss doing that.

Here in Fairbanks, quite a few stand at the busy intersections with signs. If I am not among them, I at least honk.

I do protest everyday - I have pro-life bumper stickers on my car. I noticed during Christmas break that while I was parked at the university here someone wrote with a black sharpie (which doesn't write very well at -20F) "FAG" over the "As a former fetus, I oppose abortion."

The first urge is of course to try to clean it off, but since the outraged person was so original in the insult, I have left it on, just so people can see that since I oppose abortion, I must indeed be a "FAG".
