Just Out Of Curiosity...

Why on this 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall is Google decorating its masthead with Sesame Street characters?

UPDATE: Well, never mind about Google. How's about a nice, hot mug of the Gipper?

This is a rhetorical question, yes?

It's the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street, which, you have to admit, has had enormous influence on the culture.

FWIW, when I clicked on the Google home page just now, they had "The Count" on the masthead, but they also had a link to "View images of the Berlin Wall from the LIFE Photo Archive."

They've had the SEsame Street characters up for a couple days now. Yeah, it's a big influence on the culture. But so much so they couldn't spare one day for the Wall?

Besides, it's not the first time they've pulled this stunt on the anniversary of some significant event in the history of the cause of freedom. Fool me once....

I am just wondering what graphic google will have up for Nov. 11th.

I've read before that Google only does funny things on anniversary dates. They ignored 9/11 though had links. Doubt anything will be up for the 11th as Veteran's Day.

My thanks to all the veterans.

Thank you to LMC and all the other vets.
