Random Commuter Observation

I simply cannot recall a more glorious first week of September here in Your Nation's Capital - cool, even crisp in the morning and pleasant all day long. We're at least two weeks ahead of where we ought to be in terms of early fall weather.

Must be global warming or sumpfin.

Yes, the Global Warming has been so severe that my zucchinis never appeared. How does one have zucchini plants that don't give off zucchinis? The plants themselves are ok. I just blame a cooler than normal summer.

Indeed, the pleasant weather makes the recurring Metro delays almost bearable!

All I need is the smell of fresh-mown grass to declare this "football weather."

Downeast, the mice and spiders are well ahead of themselves in their yearly house invasions, but the Big News Flash is that FIVE LOONS have already been spotted in the Cove. (Loons spend most of the year on inland lakes and ponds but migrate to coastal waters when fresh water begins to freeze.) Maybe they know something we don't. Almanac says cold wintah comin".
