I'm Not Sure What To Make Of This

What does it mean that not only have I got involved in picking out materials and colors for potential new kitchen countertops for Orgle Manor, but I'm actually enjoying it?

The world wonders.

It means you love your wife, and have been married long enough to willingly take part in the things she enjoys - even if it may not have been something you'd enjoy in the normal course of things.

Or you're going soft in your old age.

Your choice.

Your metro-sexualization is complete. Does the missus have a lock box like our current Sec of State?

Lucky for me, I just received Red Dawn from Netflix. Hopefully, it'll keep me from sliding all the way into the abyss.

It means you're definitely a civilian, not a chef. For us, countertop material's a no-brainer: stainless steel, except for the pastry/bread surface, which should be wood.

But bowing to the esthetic requirements of a home kitchen, I would emphatically make one practical recommendation: pick a solid surface, no tile or anything else with significant seams. It's a sanitation thing.
