Name Sweepstakes Update

Thus far, Eleanor is still in the running, Victoria is back, with Sophie and Cassandra as the newest entries to the field. Mrs. LMC axed Monica because of L'affair Lewinsky and my efforts to persuade her otherwise have been unavailing. Two months to go . . .

Pheh. I shall accept this ignominious brush-off with a warning that Cassandra did not exactly have a great life. I equate her with dire warnings of doom and gloom, courtesy of her gift of prophecy, which no one believed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassandra

Reagan...oooh me likey. The most beautiful girl I knew in grade school was named Reagan. Is Laura still a contender? I think Eleanor or Laura are my top picks at the moment. I take it Mrs. LMC's given name is not in the running?

Monica, Mrs. LMC's given name is not in the running. The name rules are: (i) no names of living relatives; (ii) no last names for first names; (iii) no names of old girlfriends; (iv) no names that will get a gel picked upon in a schoolyard; (v) no names "that every other little girl has." Rules (i) and (iii) knocked a lot off the list because of the size of my family and because I was (as Mrs. LMC would put it) "single for a long time" before we got married.
