On to the Governor's Mansion

NR's take on yesterday's Dem primary in Virginia and the showdown between Creigh Deeds and Bob McDonnell. Turnout is everything in a low-turnout election and Deeds pulled it off despite Terry McAuliffe's huge fund-raising and organization advantage. My next prediction--grumbling in the early fall that ol' Terry has done nothing to help the Dem ticket--he packed up the money, the mailing lists, Bubba's cell phone number, and went home.

It is very heartening to see the good guy win for a change and that money doesn't always buy elections.

Great job Deeds. I'm pulling for you.

What a spankin’. This is excellent news for Virginia. I don’t like his views on the death penalty, but I cannot wait to see Deeds in the Governors mansion.

Terry McAuliffe ran a campaign featuring energy from chicken and hog waste as delicately as "biomass". My only regret was nobody called him on it and label the Terry McA effort as "the chicksh*t campaign".
