Someone at NBC did not get the memo
Kings looks intriguing. The writing includes an underlying theme of rule by divine right, a theory which is not in vogue in the present politcal climate.
Anyhoo, Allison Miller is easy on the eyes of the male of the species as the daughter of the monarch:
While there are relatively few who support our current president who believe in divine-anything, they would probably make an exception in the case of The One.
Posted by: Tregonsee at March 23, 2009 07:05 AMSo far, this has been a fairly interesting retelling of the story of Saul, David, Jonathan, and the rest of the OT gang. From the ratings, it does not look as if it will be around long, which may be a blessing. Some of the hints from the producer sound as if it will be a firmly "progressive" view of events, including David's and Johnathan's "relationship."
Posted by: Tregonsee at March 23, 2009 07:12 AMIt's hardly a "retelling". Reimagining, maybe, and with decidedly pc overtones. Silas's comment to Jack about "not being what God made you" is not just not in the original stories, it's outright unbiblical.
Still, the acting is great - love Ian McShane. Did you notice the kid playing David is a carbon copy of a young Heath Ledger?
