His Little Asterisk

charliebrown.gif

Y'know, I certainly hope that Barry Bonds doesn't crack Hank Aaron's record against the Nats today (or in either of the other remaining games of the series, for that matter).

Perhaps it's inevitable, but I'm going to go on crossing my fingers that the Nats' pitching staff won't be the goats here.

UPDATE: Good grief!

There have been several hundred goats on the way to amassing that total. The last one will be remembered for about 12 hours.

Nic reminded me that last night's pitcher was John Lannan. We saw him pitch earlier this year in A ball with the Potomac Nationals.

Gotta love minor league baseball.

Yup - I saw Fernando Valenzuela pitch for the San Antonion Dodgers way back in the day. I think he was there for literally just a couple days before he went to the show.

Some of my favorite baseball games ever were watching Richmond Braves games in the late 80s. I saw guys like John Smoltz and Dave Justice (and so many other standouts) play. Minor league ball is great.
