Joe, she is not just a hockey mom

My nephew did a stint in Fairbanks as a reporter at the local CBS affiliate and wound up covering Sarah Palin back in the day and became quite animated when Palin come up in the conversation this evening. I get the impression the road is littered with people who thought she was just an easy-on-the-eyes hockey mom. The gal whacked the GOP state party chairman with a $12,000 ethics fine in her first state political job and went on to beat Frank Murkowski, a former U.S. Senator and sitting governor, in a three-way primary with fifty-one percent of the vote. She deals with foreign policy every day with the Russians on one side and the Canadians on the other as governor of the largest state in the Union. For all those who say she is inexperienced, remember Margaret Thatcher's only Cabinet-level position before becoming Prime Minister was as Education and Science Secretary. And BTW, Sarah Palin is even better looking in person.

I am convinced that McCain brought her on board to be his energy stalking horse. She is completely up to date on not only oil but wind, geo thermal and even tidal electricity generation. She will swallow Biden in the debates as it pertains to energy...
She will absolutely devour him on his record of the last 30 years of obstruction of energy production in the U.S.... 30 years for God's sake of blowing smoke up the environmentalist's asses about keeping everything "pristine."
"I am trying to save the planet" Pelosi; a more moronic statement I have yet to hear. So, Ms. Pelosi, let's get our energy from third world thugs that have better environmental controls than we do???
IF Putin decides to turn the gas off to Ukrain or blackmail the EU via energy prior to the U.S. election (which I will conceed would be a suidical move for him), it will make front page news all over the west and the Repubs will win in a walk.

All of the leftists who think she's "Politico Barbie" and was selected by McCain solely for her gender have completely overlooked the way her selection has energized the conservative base. Mccain raised &7 MILLION in the 24 hours after his announcement. We're jazzed to get a pro-life, pro-second amendment, tax-cutting VP pick (though a POTUS candidate of the same creds woulda been better). I've heard from blogger after blogger and numerous commenters who say that Palin has transformed them from "Hold-your-nose-and-pull-the-lever" McCain VOTERS into "To whom do I make the check?" McCain SUPPORTERS.

And quite frankly, as repugnant as some of the attacks on Palin have been, I'm morethan happy to let the left keep on underestimating her.
