Random Early Morning Observation

As I note below, the power has been out since yesterday afternoon at Orgle Manor due to the storms that blew through.

It's funny how your body keeps on working to routine even when temporarily deprived of external reminders. Of course, my clock-radio isn't working, but I woke up this morning at exactly the same time I do every day, and furthermore, knew to within about five minutes what time it was simply by the angle of the light, the level of birdsong and the flow of street traffic.

We don't need power for clocks here either...the dog is VERY precise about what time she needs to go outside and will come and stand on you to make sure you let her take care of business.

Our dog used to wake up an hour earlier than she does this week. I think the kennel stay last week recalibrated her clock, for which I'm thankful.

The commute was an adventure in the areas with power still out.

While we lose power every winter at least once, It hasn't been out for more than an hour or so in oh, 5 years or more. I guess when it happens more often, the crews are better prepared to deal with it. So the only comparison I have is the rhythm my body takes up when I camp. Usually, I find myself staying up later, getting up earlier, and napping in the middle of the day when camping.
