Gratuitous Pre-Holiday Crankiness Posting

RESOLVED: Valentine's Day as currently "celebrated" is nothing but an exercise in the cynical manipulation of mawkish sentimentality and consumer guilt orchestrated by the Hallmark-FTD-Zales cabal and its allies, and therefore should be pointedly ignored.

Gifts of flowers and chocolates cause unmarried Muslim women to do immoral things? Hello? Haven't we heard of holding out for a Mercedes? Gosh...

No wonder those who kill in the name of Allah are rewarded with 72 in Paradise. Virgins have to be hard to come by.

Since Valentine's Day falls during Lent this year, any offering of chocolates to the ol' keysunset will definitely be seen as an attack on my religion ... but then at Easter -- bring on the BUNNY. ;-)

Resolved: If Saudi Arabia fears that simple gifts of chocolate and flowers causes young unmarried Muslims to do immoral acts, then an Islamic Theocracy is, in effect, a Ninny State.
