Can you transcend the five close friend rule?

An interesting debate about whether social networking sites are in fact changing the nature of friendship, or whether it's just a load of spank.

I would say that Robbo's much better at this than I am, in that I've only developed two real world friends from doing the LLamas that I've actually, like, met and stuff--I'm much more hesitant about putting actual faces to online personas than my better blogging half.

That said, if I could finagle a way to get Cath the Cake Eater (and the Hubby), the Colossus, Groovy Vic, Jordana, Agent Bed Head, Phinneas, INDC Bill, Dr. Rusty, Prof. Chaos, Gary, LMC, Bobbgirl, Sobek, and Robbo (plus our lurker commentators) together for one night in Vegas, I'd certainly do it. But, what can I say, I'm lazy as all get out.

YearlyYip.

I'm thinking if those losers at DKos, who have the higher reasoning abilities of a Rhesus Monkey, could put something together, then we certainly could, too.

Not necessarily Vegas -- think more east coast -- maybe Atlantic City or Foxwoods. Granted we might not get John Edwards, et al., to show up and kiss our collective asses, but still -- it would be as much fun as Swingers. We could introduce Robbo to people as "the guy behind the guy behind the guy."

Maybe you should wait 'til next week and see how the "Aceapalooza" planned for Boston this weekend works out. If the pack of Retards (said lovingly, as only a member of said pack of Retards can do) over at the Ace 'O Spades HQ can make a social gathering work, then you should consider an "Llama'08 World Tour".
