Immigration Bill: R.I.P.

Vote for cloture defeated, effectively killing the bill.

Regardless of your position on this legislation, the shenanigans over the last couple of weeks in Congress have shown what a clusterf#%@ that institution is. God save the Republic as we approach its 231st birthday.

UPDATE:
AllahPundit has posted a video of a toy robot celebrating in a rather...unconventional way (scroll down towards the end).

I'm speechless.

I thought it was a fine example of how grass roots activism can kill a bad piece of legislation, even when that legislation has bipartisan kleptocratic support from the lawyer-politician class. But, they'll soon resurect the "Fairness Doctrine" to put a stop to that.

Oh, I agree. What annoys me is the way the Senate seemed to use every trick in the book to cobble together something for the sake of passing anything.

Ten years ago this would have passed before we even heard about it.

I took the victory lap through the humping robots...
Yeah, thank God the people of the United States voted this abomination out.
