Gratuitous Nats Season-Ending Haiku

NatHat.jpg

Well, we dropped an ugly one to the Marlins last night. In my continuing attempt to avoid having to fall back on "Let's Not Lose One Hundred Games!" as a rallying cry, I offer another piece of poetry:

Ninety-nine losses now.

Four games left in the season.

Maybe pray for rain?

As a matter of fact, tonight's series-ender against the Marlins is almost sure to be rained out, as a nor'easter is rolling into Dee Cee today. Which raises the question: Both the Nats and teh Marlins are out anyway. Must they make up this game, or can they simply say to hell with it?

Damnit! They must play... But after the game becomes official after the 5th I don't see why they should continue...

...Raining today in Philly....who'd you pray to, Robbo?

Since it was Portland that DeeCee beat out to get the Expos, you'll get no sympathy for me. I hope you get swept the rest of the season. Yeah, yeah, I know, sour grapes, but when you live in the state with the Largest American Metro Area Without a MLB Franchise(TM), and the only baseball you can get on TeeVee is the damned Mariners (about whom I give exactly bupkus), you get a little bitter.
