The Tina Fey Skit
Not going to link it or reproduce it here as it's a waste of keystrokes. You've no doubt already seen it.
It was funny. Kudos to Fey for getting that Northwestern accent down pretty well. Yes, it was meant to portray Sarah Palin as a barbie doll but I remember all those "amiable dunce" portrayals of Reagan in the '80's by the incredibly talented Phil Hartman. Those skits were funny too.
I think the point here is that Republicans have a sense of humor about themselves. Democrats just get all indignant over anything that undermines how seriously they take themselves.
Even Palin's reaction was humorous:
On Sunday, a campaign adviser confirmed that Ms. Palin had, indeed, watched the “Saturday Night Live” skit from her screen at the front of the plane. “She thought it was quite funny,” the adviser said in an email response to inquiries, “especially because the governor has dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween.”
Can't wait for the debate parody in about a month.

That's an Alaskan accent, dude, not a Northwestern one.
I agree that the skit was hilarious, but I definitely don't agree about what you think the point was. That skit was making fun of Americans for not questioning this woman who came out of absolutely no where, especially with such a littered past. It was making fun of all the people who think that Palin, who is completely unqualified, could help run our country just because they find her attractive and relatable.
It was most definitely not a compliment to Republicans for 'having a sense of humor'. It was the Democrats saying, 'Wake up!!' in a very funny way. I seriously doubt that Palin found the skit funny, but of course she's going to say that. She's rolling with the punches, which is what you have to do if you're a politician. I look forward to many more skits like this, that call out what the non-Republican people of this country have already been saying for the last few weeks.
You should ask Tina Fey who she's voting for...cause I guarantee it's not her look-alike.

Why don't you just come right out and say it? You mean IGNORANT Americans in flyover country, right?
Well, like it or not, Palin connects with these folks and they vote. You can chalk it up to them being blind and mindless like, say...oh, I don't know...Obamabots, maybe. But you'll never give them credit for making up their own minds.
If a candidate is so unqualified with such a "littered past", the American people will be smart enough to figure that out.
Unfortunately for Barack Obama, they are. Which is why States like NY are all of a sudden in play.
BTW, "nowhere" is one word.
"A littered past"?? You seem to be confusing Palin with Obama.
I didn't realize she had watched the skit too. Her comment about dressing up as Tina Fey had me in stitches. ROFL What a great lady. You certainly can't find women of that caliber in New York. =X
