Random Commuter Observation

Despite the recent spike in gas prices, I still haven't managed to hit the $50 fill-up yet. But at $48.42 this morning, I feel I've gotten close enough.

I've got you all beat...the last time I filled La Tahoe I spent $62!

Wow. Gas pumps locally have a cut-off at $75.00

I hit the limit all the time... (but I have a >25 gallon tank)

Nothing to brag about, but I've got you all beat! Have to drive a Dodge Van (for sheelchair)- at least 26 gal. I spent $78 and change the other day (was surprised when the cut-off didn't stop at $50 or $75. An omen?

Well, anyway, when gas was real high a year or so ago, I topped $80 at about $82. I make the joke that we take the "girl" out for dinner instead of us.

Oh, and the "girl" only gets 10 miles to the gallon. We are definitely driving less, and double check with my parents so that if one of us goes out, we bring back what we all need to save on gas. Spend less time shopping that way, too.

As long as the weather holds (and possibly for some time after) I'm going to stick to my MotoFino scooter. 80mpg, fast enough for most roads, no motorcycle license or insurance necessary. I'll probably go for the 80cc upgrade kit for hill climbing oomph, but the money I've saved over the past couple of months has allowed me to painlessly indulge my runny cheese habit. Plus, scooters are fun, even if I look stupid.
