Dana Carvey Has Still Got It

As far as impressions go.

On Jay Leno, he examines the "folksy" candidate, Ol' Fred:

Then he lampoons Giuliani:

Pretty funny stuff. Personally, I'd most like to see Carvey do an impression of Hillary Clinton a la The Church Lady. What a perfect fit.

Actually that was pretty fucking stupid and not funny. Juvenile and lame act. Rich Little did much better impersonations and did so without malicious intent.

I think your inferring maliciousness here. Don't be such a thin-skinned humorless schmuck. Leave that routine for the Democrats.

And Carvey is a comic actor who also does impressions. Rich Little did impressions for a living - that's was his bread and butter. Admittedly, his Fred Thompson wasn't exactly "spot on" but he got the flavor of it.

BTW, watch the fucking language. This is a family-friendly blog.

I think Carvey is right in the mechanics of how you'd go about imitating Thompson (the Disney animatronic bear idea is perfect) but his execution of it is fairly poor.

He does a pretty fair Giuliani, though.

Imitate Hillary? No one in Hollywood is going to go there until after she loses. Hillary isn't exactly Bush Sr. in terms of taking a joke, and that's an enemies list no one wants to be on.

I don't know. I thought it was funny...
