A new intertube malady defined

The Colossus sends word via the Tasty Bits Mail Sack that we are apparently suffering from the new virulent strain of BDS---Bellichick Derangement Syndrome.

My only response is: guilty and lovin' it.

Yips! from Robbo: I saw yesterday that Don Shula was calling for an asterisk in the record books should the Pats win it all. Now Coach is a class guy and there's not much that he could do to which I would object, but even I thought this was over the top. Apparently, Don has now thought better of it himself.

YIPS from Steve-O: We now have exclusive pics from the Shula Noozconference:

Apparently, Shula and the 72 Fins have hired noted legal counsel Matlock to represent them in their future battles with Bill Bellichick and the Pats.

Go get 'im, Brags. Nice cut-and-paste job.

The Pats/Colts game was - officiating excepted - a great game. Both teams dug down, and I fail to see how either can be maligned.

So what do you think? Has Robbo spent too much time as a guvmint clock-puncher? Since when did working hard and getting results become a bad thing? Is he becoming a closet lefty? Should we have some equality of outcome instead of opportunity? I think we better keep our eyes on this lad.

I remember a bumper sticker I saw a while ago: 'ANNOY A LIBERAL: work hard, be happy.' Once upon a time, we could have added 'and get the WSJ delivered to your on-campus commune' (Westco) That was the Robbo I knew. What happened? Is it too late?

It has nothing to do with ideology, everything to do with Johnny-come-lately douchery of the Pats bandwagoneers.

No, it has everything to do with the Dolphins looking like the Eleven Stooges this year. I lash out as a result.

If the Pats win out, the asterisk should belong to the Dolphins, as they accomplished a perfect record in a 14 game season. The Pats would have to do it in a 16 game season. Clearly, the Pats would earn their place in history.

That being said, it's probably academic, because when they clinch, I'm predicting they'll then go out and lose a couple of games because Belichick will give the bench some playing time. Remember Testaverde's touchdown pass and Flutie's drop-kicked extra point? Belichick has a history of playing the scrubs when it doesn't count.

And I say that as a guy who has, somewhere, a jersey he used to wear in college pickup games with #14 and "Grogan" printed on it. I suffered through all those mind-numbingly bad Pats teams of the 1970s. And 80s. And 90s.

Darryl Stingley? A tragedy. Jim Plunkett? A traitor. And the greatest offensive lineman in NFL history?

A no-brainer. John Hannah, of course.

2007 : Patriots 52, Redskins 7
1972 : Dolphins 52, Patriots 0

At least, no more whingeing about running up scores please.

nice, chuckR. although I think we may be beyond reason at this point with some of this lot.
