Harry Reid came out against him, so what more do you need to know he is the right man for the job? OpinionJournal's cut on it is here. The White House should put the nomination up, give it four weeks and if the Dems balk, give him a recess appointment at the first opportunity and be done with it.

I'd love to see the Dems try to demagogue a guy whose wife died on 9/11. This will make the MoveOn Petraeus ad seem downright politically sane by comparison.

W should then cite Bill Clinton's example of Bill Lann Lee Assoc Atty Gen for Civil Rights (given a recess appt after the Senate Committee voted him down - Pat Leahy should remember that one).....
