Gratuitous Lunchtime Observation

If the weather in Dee Cee was the same all summer as it is today, you would never ever hear me complain about it. Almost as if a little touch o' Maine had made its way down the coast.

UPDATE: Oh, what the heck - it's another five weeks or so until my vacation, but since I've got Maine on the brain I'll repost this nifty image originally crafted by the Colossus:

Mmmmmmm..........

Very true. Then again, if the weather here in the summer was like this all the time, think how many MORE tourons we'd have...

I lived in Adelphi, MD. from 97-03, and it can indeed be lovely inside the Beltway sometimes, but I don't miss the stinky, steamy, slimy, humid days of July and August at all. Sure, it get's hot here, but at 4,500 feet 95 degrees is usually accompanied by humidity under 20% - sometimes as low as 4%. I like that: 95 degrees and no sweat. In "Dee Cee" I often wished for a shower by the time I got to work... three miles away in Hyattsville.

Good point. However I don't feel half so misanthropic when it cools down, so perhaps the greater influx would be tolerable. (There must be some tourons per degree equation that would give you the maximum sufferable population at any given temperature.)

I agree that yesterday and today make me wish our summer was like this instead of the swampy grossness that we usually get.

It is oh, so tempting to take Beau and Jesse and play hooky this afternoon to some park or something.
