Gratuitous Historickal Kewlness

The entire Civil War (or War Between the States, whatever your tastes) in four+ minutes.

The history geek in me is speechless.

Thanks for the h/t, Jonah!

That was groovy. And "Ashokan Farewell" makes me cry every single time I hear it.

Vic, I've seen Jay Ungar (the guy who composed that tune) perform it in small "folk music-type" venues.

It's all the more moving listening to it live.

He and his wife, Molly Mason, have a couple of CD's. I have one that doesn't have "Ashokan Farewell" on it but is really really good if you enjoy that kind of violin. It's called "The Lover's Waltz" (http://www.jayandmolly.com/prodrecs.shtml#Lover) and it does have the theme from "Legends of the Fall" on it.

That is some serious coolness. And Gary, I'm sure at least some of our readers would prefer "The War of Northern Aggression."

That was truly amazing. Now I have to dust off one of my civil war games and have at it.

Bravo!

Yes Robbo, I'm a "War of Northern Agression" kind of guy, as well as a "The South Shall Rise Again!" kind of guy.

That was just round one. LOL!

Super-duper cool, though. The choice of music was positively awesome.

Robbo - how about "The Recent Unpleasantness Between the States", as it was known in some parts of VA in my youth.

Of course, if the result has been different it would be known as "The War of Southern Ass-Kickitude".

I like to call it The War About Owning Other Humans.
