Baldwin's Blowup
These here world wide webs have been full of scorn today following the release of the voicemail recordings of Alec Baldwin savaging his 11 year old daughter, apparently because she had missed a scheduled phone call with him.
I trust and hope that the criticism he is receiving (and rightfully so, in my opinion), is due to the severity of his outburst, not the fact of it. If blowing your stack with the children were a crime in and of itself, many of us (self included) would be doing time.
But I got thinking that this actually is not the worst part of the business. The tapes became public, apparently, owing to the machinations of Baldwin's ex and the girl's mother, Kim Bassinger. (I didn't even know they had split, which shows how much I pay attention to this sort of thing.) That she would willingly subject her own daughter to public humiliation, apparently to score points against Baldwin in an on-going custody dispute, is, I believe, even worse than his chewing out the poor girl to begin with.
Contemptible people, the pair of them. Somebody tell me again why we should pay the slightest attention to either one when they start preaching at us about social, political or moral issues?
Posted by Robert at April 20, 2007 08:02 PM | TrackBackI knew the two of them were mentally off when during the Clinton years, they hosted a fundraiser in Southampton for President Twit and his lovely wife, Piano Legs. The caterer arrived with the food and what the Baldwin's find to their abject horror -fois gras! Instead of slipping the head waiter a fiver hold back on all the fois gras and drive it to the nearest soup kitchen after the party, the Baldwin's blew up and canceled the fundraiser...
For 15 minutes.
During that 15 minutes, the fois gras was very unceremoniously dumped into the nearest garbage cans and the fundraiser was back on. To think all of those ducks (in America our fois gras more than almost always comes from a duck) were force fed all their short-lived lives for nothing. Absolutely nothing. The Baldwins did not care one iota what those ducks had been put through.
We never should have listened to the Baldwins in the first place. And after watching Kim fail in her attempt of being a Bond girl, we never should have watched them to begin with. She took all the Bond girls down at least one notch, if not two. That is unforgivable.
I always loved when Alec, in an attempt to look intelligent when discussing politics donned the Malcolm X eyeglasses. Comedy does not get any better...

If you understand that they are creatures of inferior breeding - and superior genetics for nothing other than bone structure - you'll understand the nature of the game. And then, of course, all of their mindless pronouncements are put into perspective as well. It is only the mindless masses who are fooled by these pretty dolts.
