On this day in 1979, President Jimmah Carter was savagely attacked by a rabbit while fishing in Plains, Georgia, spawning one of the most apropos political metaphors of recent history.

I don't want a wittle bunny in my wittle row boat

'Cause the bunny might be rabid and he'll bite me in the fwoat
In my wittle row boat in the pond.
I wish I could remember the rest, but it's been almost 20 years.
