Milestones

After nearly ten years of continuous occupation, the crib is coming down this afternoon.

Mr. Small won't turn two until the end of January, but he's been blessed with what we like to refer to as "Monkey Toes"---the tyke can scale the side of the crib with an alacrity that would make a cat burglar proud.

With that, my usefulness for the family officially ends. Next stop, glue factory.

At the age of two Max and Rebecca too were quite adept at climbing out of their cribs. However, I was not willing to give the freedom of a big bed to two year olds that share a room. I knew there would be precious little sleeping and a great deal of destruction. Instead we elected to go with crib tents. We were able to confine them for another year before granting them their big beds.

Steve-O, in re Sarah's crib tent idea, I've got some chicken-wire out in the garage if you'd like to borrow it.
