Live Fire Exercise

North Korea is supposed to be getting ready to test fire a ballistic missile capable of reaching the West Coast. The Administration promised a response if The Dear Leader popped off a rocket. I hope it means a live-fire exercise for the missile defense facility in Alaska and/or an Aegis warship off the coast of Korea. A successful intercept would be a many-splendored thing.

UPDATE: Looks like I am not the only one who has been thinking along these lines. Colossus, great minds think alike.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Intercept the S.O.B.

Would a) make Kim Jong Il look stupid, and b) prove that missile defense is viable.

Shooting the mo'fo down would be a loverly gesture, but I have a depressing suspicion that Dubya is thinking in terms of a strongly worded protest or trade sanctions. How serious are trade sanctions to a nation whose #1 export is pellagra?

Of course, intercepting and destroying the missle would be a great thing. I would also like to add that bombing the facility from whence it came would send a real message...

My thoughts must've gotten eaten by a hungry mu.nu.

Anyway, our ICBM rockets probably need some testing too. Just launch 3-4 over NK and into the Yellow Sea.

For those who thought the missile defense was a bad idea, I ask the following: Would have the old ABM Treaty have stopped the Dear Leader & Friends?
