Greedo did not shoot first after all

The 1977 version of Star Wars is coming out in DVD. George Lucas annointed the "re-mastered" version as the definitive piece in '04 but now seems to be bowing to fan demand, the almighty dollar, or both (probably both).

Yips! from Robbo: Excellent news, and I see it goes for all three of the original trilogy. Poor old Sebastian Shaw will fly again!

Pardon the language but...DAMN THAT TUBBY BASTARD STRAIGHT TO HELL!

I just bought the revised DVD's for the husband SPECIFICALLY because he said he'd never release the originals to DVD, working under the premise that something was better than nothing, right? Now I have to spend ANOTHER sixty bucks!

I'm happy the husband will now have the DVD's---and we can finally consign the VHS to the trash can (the only reason we kept it around was because he owned the originals on VHS), but do I ever HATE giving that man money! It's like giving money to a drunken bum---YOU KNOW it's not going to be spent properly.

ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!

The problem is here is that this decision comes AFTER my vow to never, ever pay so much as a single cent for anything remotely related to the Star Wars franchise.

And that vow was because of the whoole Greedo shoots first thing in the first place.

On the other hand, the movies probably won't be as good up close and personal again as they are in my dim memory anyway, so I'm probably not losing out by holding on to my money.
