Good For What Ails Ye

For my birthday, the Missus gave me a bottle of Oban 14 year old, a single malt I've never tried. Brian B. recently reviewed this label and has a report. Being an Islay fan, I am especially encouraged by the suggestion that this malt has a peatiness about it.

What better way to spend the evening than giving it a try while listening to some Mozart?

By the way, big Llama Yips! to Brian on his son's first birthday! Cheers!

Oh, it's by no means up to Islay standards when it comes to peatiness, but it's not a bad little Scotch. I'm partial to it for sentimental reasons -- the first single malt I ever tried was Oban.

I'm really looking forward to cracking open the Lagavulin.

And thank you for the yips.

For Christmas the wife bought me a nice little Speyside called the Glenrothes.

I promised myself I would only indulge on special occassions.

Amazing how many special occassions one can come up with.

HB, glad you're older than me.

This is straight from a Scotman's mouth - Oban (nice stuff)is pronounced "Obn". The "a" is silent. It is one of my husand's favorites. Enjoy!
