Is NOTHING SACRED to you people?!?!?

Magnum, P.I..

The Movie.

Without Tom Selleck.

Pardon me while I go drown my sorrows in a bottle of Testor's model airplane glue.

You're just hoping the Magnum, P.I. shorty shorts for men come back in style aren't you?

By the way, y'all look stunning in the party hats. Just like little princesses.

My good friend Vulture Six blogged on this yesterday.

My sentiments exactly. Especially when I hear George Clooney's name tossed about as a likely replacement. Ugh! Now I need pepto.

There is no Magnum but Tom Selleck and John Hillerman is the butler.

Travesty.

Posted by: jen at January 26, 2006 03:19 PM

Coincidentally, this is at the same time that they're working on another travesty remake of a Donald Belisario show, Miami Vice.

Like I said at Vulture's Row, Hollywood is full of drool-cup morons who hate all that is good and are hell bent on destroying my childhood.

The only possible replacement for Tom Selleck is Tom Selleck's moustache. If the moustache signs on, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, no dice.

Being a loyal fan of the series (Do you remember when Magnum (ex-Navy SEAL) shot "Ivan"?), I will boycott the movie on principle. No doubt it would be a PC travesty of the original.

I can almost live with the idea. Almost.

But damn them all to hell, Selleck too, if he makes some sort of lame cameo appearance.

That was my favorite episode, "Ivan, did you see the sun rise this morning?"

"Mr. Selleck's mustache couldn't be reached for comment, as it is currently recuperating at the Betty Ford Clinic from addiction to methamphetemines and Mr. Pibb. The mustache's publicist did however deny repeated rumors that it was the unnamed third part at the core of the Anniston/Pitt divorce."

Phin--wadda ya mean, those shorts went out of style?

KMR---shooting Ivan was the emotional turning point of the series, not counting of course the lost weekend episode with Angela Lansbury.
