Serenity Now!

I don't normally flag these, but Josh Cohen at Multiple Mentality has done a seriously cool Firefly-themed edition of Carnival of the Vanities this week. Get on over there.

By the way, I must be one of the very few Firefly fans who hasn't yet seen Serenity. However, it's at the top of my Netflix queue for when the DVD is released next week. When it was in theatres, I read an awful lot of commentary about box off draw and such, but I don't remember reading that much about what people thought of the movie itself. So....?

One of the best freaking Sci Fi movies ever, if you've seen the series, I've heard it sucks if you haven't. Seriously, you really screwed up by not watching it on the big screen.

I have a sneaking suspicion that TFR got me the series on DVD for Christmas.

Between tickets and food and babysitting, etc., to borrow a line from a different space movie, "We could almost buy our own ship for that."

Cool about the series. I've strongly hinted for the same thing here. (Which I guess I'm doing again now.)

I got lucky, my best friend was in town and TFR sent us to the movie while she stayed home with The Lad.

My friend and I agree that the one piece of Firefly slang/patois that needs broader exposure is "shiny".

Serenity is great. My fiance enjoyed it a lot and he had never seen Firefly. We have been watching the Firefly DVDs when he's in town and we love them.

Did not see it on the big screen but dropped enough hints to Mrs. LMC who has intimated that she got the hint but seems concerned I will spend the week after Christmas watching it over and over.

When you see the movie, I think you'll understand why those who love the series didn't talk much about it to others who loved the series and hadn't seen the movie.

In other words: remain unspoiled!

The movie is excellent.

I ended up seeing it three times when it was in the theater. You'll love it! I bought the soundtrack for my sister's Xmas pressie, and I'm being given the DVD as a present (I was informed prior so I wouldn't go buy a copy)
