Oscar! Oscar! Oscar!

Sure you've seen it already, but here is the list of nominees for the major awards.

I have to confess that the only two movies I've even seen of this entire lot are Ray and The Incredibles. So you know where my votes are going......

Geez I'm pathetic. Out of all those movies I've only seen Shrek 2. I meant to see many of those (Ray, The Incredibles, Eternal Sunshine, The Aviator) but will just have to wait for the DVDs now.

Speaking of movies, several Munuvians discussed casting choices after your initial contributions of yesterday...

We had just arrived home from watching Ray when TFR's water broke. I'll never forget that movie my entire life.

Well, the only one I've seen that's up for Best Picture is Aviator. Not having seen the others, this probably isn't fair, but I'd say Aviator deserves all the awards it can grab. It is by far one of the better movies I've seen - and not just last year, either.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Finding Neverland and Johnny Depp were nominated. Charming movie and he was brilliant in it.

Haven't seen a single one...the only fkick I watched in a theater in 2004 was also the best film of 2004: Kill Bill, Volume 2.

Feel free to mock me, if you must.

Finding Neverland. definitely the best movie of the last few years. but it probably won't win, and since either Don Cheadle or Jamie Fox will win best actor (very deservedly), Depp will get a nod next year for Pirates 2 to make up the difference.

Biggest crime was Caviezel not getting a nomination for best actor, IMO.
