I have no problem with anonymous blogging -- I understand the need for it -- but it's my crusade to make it a voluntary, rather than a necessary, choice.

This professor is abusing his power. And all of us with university ties should be loudly calling him on it.

Preaching to the choir. I went private last fall, as you guys know, and I don't regret it.

Sounds about right. I never, ever discuss politics with my colleagues, although they’re not nearly as reticent about sharing their opinions with me. I’m pretty sure they’d be far more tolerant about differences of opinion if I were gay, or Muslim, or just about anything except conservative. As somebody or other once said, intellectuals value pluralism of every type except intellectual pluralism.

I always comment anonymously. It makes it so much easier to sneak up behind your enemies and twist their scrawny little necks.
