Tolkien Geek Watch - Update

Lots of gratifying interest in that Tolkien Quiz I posted yesterday. Having had a few minutes at lunch, I gave it another whirl myself. Here are my results:

Level I - Leaving the Shire - 15 out of 15
Level II - The Fellowship - 18 out of 18
Level III - Two Towers - 18 out of 20
Level IV - Shelob's Lair- 16 out of 20
Level V - The Black Gate - 0 out of 1

Unfortunately, by Level V, you aren't allowed any mulligans. And the very first question had to do with how many days there are in the Quenyan "yen" (year). I haven't the faintest idea.

I think what this means is that I am pretty knowledgeable about the subject without being, well, too geeky. I'm content with that.

Dude, I hate to break it to ya - you're an official LOTR nerd. How many times have you read the books? Have you read The Silmarillion?

I've read LOTR probably 20 times all the way through. Silmarillion, maybe half that. The Hobbit, probably about the same.

I'll take "nerd" as being a step down from "geek" and outside what one might call the Dork Zone.

After your score on Level IV, "too geeky" definitely applies. Anything more, or scoring on Level V, and "uber geek" would need to tatooed to your hide.

Actually if you get the first question right you get mulligans, I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. I tested it out by using my back button.
