It looks like I'm going to have to go to Memphis in a couple weeks. I've never been before. Anybody out there got some tips on good places to eat?

Posted by: Ted at October 25, 2004 02:19 PMHey,
Ribs, Ribs, and more Ribs! Seriously, Memphis has some of the best BBQ in the world. But specifically try Rendezvous. Grab a full rack, half dry, half wet and a cold beer. I dont think you will be disappointed. And anyone in Memphis can tell you how to get there, so there is no hunting around and getting lost. Just my 2-cents.
Nashville, TN

And I'll be damned if I can't remember a great greasy spoon that had the best damned breakfast ever! If you are on Beale Street at the Elvis statue facing the Orpheum Theatre. Turn left down the street on which the Orpheum sits. Mulberry I think. It has street car tracks on it. Follow the street car tracks to their end. And the place is a corner on the left. It is about two/three blocks from the Lorraine Motel. I'm pretty sure it is on Mulberry.
And if you are looking for evening entertainment on Beale street. I recommend the Rum Boogie Blues bar. They have the best house band. But to to BB King's if BB is in town and playing in the house. I saw him there once. It was great.
And even though I am a HUGE Elvis fan. Don't go to Elvis Presley's Memphis restaurant on Beale. Ick.
Do go to Graceland.

Delicious.
