Game Three

And if you have to ask, well, you might not know the true level of our desparation....

The Irish Elk has the usual pre-game lineup for the true to the end Royal Rooters, as well as this valuable advice for President Bush from Granny Clampett:

Granny: Remember what William Jennings Bryan said, fight hard but fight clean.

Jethro: But you ain't fightin' clean Granny.

Granny: Course I ain't! William Jennings Bryan was a loser!

UPDATE: These are the times that try men's souls....

Maybe Granny knew William Claude Dukenfield, who promulgated Dukenfield's Law: If it's worth winning, it's worth cheating. (W.C. Fields)

I hate to play the race card, but the Sox are too white to win. They have other problems too, and I'm not saying there's not a certain charm to the collection of physical oddities they call a starting lineup, but making Yawkey proud isn't a good way to win, or show the league and the country they've put a shameful past behind them. Intentional or not, it's bad business.
