Okay, now I'm officially confused

Can anybody explain how all this works? I thought I understood the difference between inbounds and inbound uniques, but I guess not. The Commissar approves of the changes, but maybe I was asleep that day in Reeducation 101 at Camp Gulag.

If Blog A links to Blog B's main page 10 times that is ONE unique link.

But if Blog A links to ten different posts of Blog B, then that is ten unique links.

Or, if Blogs C,D,E,F, and G linked to Blog B's main page, that would be five unique links.

Good, I didn't even understand how the old trackback worked. Soon they'll be teaching courses at trade schools & universities, Advanced Trackback. Trackback for Professionals. You & Your Trackback. F*** Trackback.

Yup, the Commissar got it exactly right.

For the curious, the reason that the Ecosystem ranks based on unique links rather than just inbound links is to prevent abuse: way back when we had some overly-enthusiastic kiddies who liked to put the same link many many times on their front page to beef up their buddies stats...
