Oh my.

I don't know exactly why, but this could very well be the most sincerely hilarious yet at the same time most absolutely pathetically sad thing I've ever read.

I wonder if there's a way we could empirically measure the paranoia level over at the Democratic Underground and come up with a rating level---the far left desperation indicator perhaps. It would be useful right up there with the electronic political futures markets as an indicator ahead of the polls.

BTW, John Hawkins is keeping tabs on the DU for us---personally, I haven't gotten the proper shots to observe the fevered swamps up close and personal.

these people are about as off-the-charts paranoid as you can get. Someone get hem some thorazine stat!

I have to admit, for a moment I asked myself if there wasn't a parallel between that DU thread and the talk I hear among conservatives about the possibility of a leftist uprising if Bush wins, and how we'll respond. Then I remembered that I've actually heard leftists make comments to that effect, while I've never heard a single conservative make a sincere comment regarding putting liberals in camps. They refuse to recognize the fact that we're actually the ones showing some respect for the constitution.

This seems like pretty much normal fare for the duers. I troll thru their boards from time to time - this stuff isn't exactly out of the ordinary.

I think I just spent the day at one of their camps. Charlottesville, Virginia, it was called.

Actually, it wasn't so bad. One bizarro lady at Whole Foods did ask me if I was ever mistaken for Michael Moore (I told her "no, but I'm often confused with Black Francis of The Pixies"). Of course, she had no clue who that was...

Aside from that, the famous Five Guys burger 'n fries joint from Northern Virginia just opened a Charlottesville store this very week. Ummm...dead cow grilled is...Tasty...yeah...
