G'Day, Mate
Want to know how you'd vote Down Under? Go take this quiz. Apparently in Australia, my free-market economic stance and social Toryism make me something close to a Liberal. But then again, everything is upside-down there.
Yips! to John at TexasBestGrok.
hmmmm.... I don't know anything about Aussie politics but I wonder if maybe WE are the ones who are upside down. I don't know what Liberal and Conservative are anymore. Nowdays Conservatives are the ones who are changing things and Liberals are living in the past.
Posted by: Lynn S at September 2, 2004 03:23 PMThat's very true. And to stir it up further, I am in fact a "classical liberal" in my outlook, as that term is understood among socio/political wonks.
Posted by: Robert the Llama Butcher at September 2, 2004 04:11 PMThe Australian Liberal Party are "liberal" in the traditional sense, classic liberals in other words. Nowadays though, they are really more Tory than liberal. They are the current government, John Howard is the leader of the Australian Liberal Party.
