"One Ring To Bring Them All And In The Garden Bind Them"

The good news is that I went poking about in the garden yesterday and noticed that a number of the early season playas are starting to get in gear - particularly the forsythia. Digging around at the base of the peonies I also saw plenty of nice, big, fat red buds on their rhizomes.

The bad news is that I also saw, for the first time this season, one of Sauron's Wraith Rabbits fooling about on the edge of the woods. In fact, he almost got stepped on by Bambi the Balrog, who was also loitering in the area.

The Dark Lord evidently has begun to summon his forces for another season of campaigning against my flowers. Time to stop putting things off and get the Circuit of the Ramas in good repair.

I thought of you the other day when I passed a wraith-rabbit on the road. It was playing the role of roadkill.

Heh. Unfortunately, I don't think they really die. Instead, their formless spirits make their way back to their dark master as best they can, eventually reemerging clad in more fur.

Try sprinkling Blood Meal around the Garden. The minions of Sauron don't like the blood smell. Fortunately, plants like Blood Meal.

There are several recipes out there to scare wildlife away. Blood Meal is the most simple.

If you have a dog, or dogs wander your neighborhood, this is not the best choice.

Cayenne pepper also works for some animals. If you want power repellant, mix the pepper (you can substitute Tobasco sauce), the blood meal and some egg whites and spray around the garden. Go easy on the egg whites if you want to enjoy the garden...they are only there to make the other components stick.

Go in stages. don't bring out the big guns unless the small ones don't work. You may need the big guns when the creatures of Sauron get used to the the small ones.
