Seriously -- I expected the worst sort of soccer hooliganism to erupt after the Charles/Camilla announcement, especially considering how maudlin all the Diana stuff got just a few years ago. But nothing -- virtual silence.

Then it struck me. No one cares anymore.

Britain is dead.

If I may pat myself on the back, my favorite part of it is the James Bond progression. That really says it all. Mr. Bean at the end is just a cheap shot.

The whole thing is a cheap shot, really. I should be ashamed of myself, at some level. I'd love nothing more than a British blogger to attack me for it, but they won't. They know there is more than a grain of truth to it.
