I always thought the USS Tecumseh was a bit odd myself

Rocket Jones has an interesting piece about the historical choices made naming the Polaris submarine class back in the 1960s.

My son's name is John Marshall, and I got him a USS John Marshall baseball hat a couple of years ago.

Where did you find the hat? I served on the Marshall in it's final months and through decom. That boat is razor blades now.
I was thinking just the other day that it would be cool to have an old John Marshall cap, but haven't had a chance to start digging online.
I always thought the U.S.S. Lewis & Clark was an odd name for a boat. Why not one for each?
