Where Angels Fear To Tread

Hmmmm. I was all enthusiastic the other day about the prospect of getting Verizon's DSL service at home, now that they're laying the cable for it in my neighborhood.

But my real-life pal Marjorie the Unclimber is already well on her way down that path and is, um, not enjoying it. Not one bit.

Now because of the fact that Verizon's workmen went around my garden instead of throught it, I'd gladly buy a dead crab from these folks at the moment if they wanted me to. Marjorie's forehead bashing probably won't dissuade me from charging forward, but I think I'd better start pricing crash helmets.

Verizen DSL works fine, I tried it but went back to Road-Runner simply for convenice.

We researched all the available options at our house, and settled on a cable modem instead of DSL (we have satellite TV). Never regretted it.

Now we've got some more 'defenses' on the computer and at least I haven't had any more porn pop-up. We're still working on it. The plus side is Llamabutchers came up immediately whereas before I'd get the screen and it would take forever to load...
