The High School Reunion: Go, or No-go?

Gary comes down firmly in the "go" category, but I'd have to take the opposite tack of having Mrs. LLamabutcher talk the folks up and say, "Yeah, he is kind of a goober..."

Definite no-go.

Admit it, you didn't even like most of those people the first time. Why go see them again?

Go. So you can bask in the glory of having a world famous blog.

Went to my 20th a month ago. Survived. Realized I had nothing in common with most of those people 20 years ago, and still don't.

Go. You will be amazed the "beautiful people" are not aging well for the most part. The plain-Jane wallflowers are now drop-dead gorgeous aerobics instructors who will remember that you were polite and actually talked to them back in the day before they became drop-dead gorgeous. There will be one or two rehab stories and classmates at the 20th who look like they are there for the 40th.

I have to say I came away feeling better about myself in the grand scheme of things that when I arrived. ditto on LMC's comment.

Echoing LMC, Go to the reunion. Chances are, you're holding up better than the beautiful people.

My 20th reunion was earlier this month. I had a prior commitment on that day, so I didn't go. But I was not planning to go anyway - I was only at that high school for the last two years and I pretty much kept to myself. Post HS, I haven't kept in touch with anyone, so there's not really anyone that I would want to see again.
