Random Commuter Observation

While Virginia drivers, Self included, tend to be lead-footed, at least we're generally predictable. On the other hand, Maryland drivers are downright psychotic. Whenever you see a car doing something completely insane around here, you can be pretty sure it's got Maryland tags on it.

Just saying.

Heh. So true.

A friend calls Maryland drivers collectively The Death Squad.

What is it with the drivers down here? I cut my urban driving teeth in Boston (you haven't truly lived until you have navigated downtown Boston at rush hour). While extremely aggressive there, it is at least predictable and simple: if you make eye contact, you must yield right of way. Simple. In Maryland, all hell breaks loose. My favorite is when it rains you slow down to 25mph on the highway and put your hazards on! What is that? Who would think that is a good idea? Baltimore is the worst, where a red light seems to mean “3 more cars go”. There is no way to predict what anyone is going to do, it is completely random…

Yeah, be glad not many WVA drivers are in your ken - they make Marylanders look positively sane.

Does Maryland still have the "Please drive gently" signs at the borders? Ha. Although in their defense, the MD natives in the Western mountains and on the Eastern Shore are generally sane - it's the Yankee transplants in Baltimore and the DC 'burbs that cause the most pandemonium.
