Attention Fellow 'Fins Fans!

Alert reader Mike dropped a note to say that the Miami Herald has started a Dolphins Blog. The site's blogroll contains a number of other 'Fin sites as well.

So what of this A. J. Feeley/Gus Frerotte QB thing? I dunno yet. I've been around here long enough to remember when Frerotte was the Darling of Dee Cee. Feeley, caught up in last year's disasterous season, probably hasn't had the chance to show his stuff completely.

In the end, I think it will probably depend on how each one responds to Saban's coaching. Nobody knows that answer to that yet.

(Continuing Message to Pats Fans: Shut the hell up. )

I've got two words for you, Robbo.

1. Sage
2. Rosenfels

He can't be any worse than Feeley/Frerotte, right? The kid had a good head on his shoulders when I watched him play for ISU, and I can't imagine that he's gotten any dumber since he graduated (unless he's been sneaking brownies from Rickie's "special" tupperware).

Sage is yummy. As for Gus -- "hey, let me hit my head against this wall!"

I hadn't forgotten about Sage. He just doesn't seem to be in the mix right now. Who knows if that might not change.

Gus Frerotte?
Well, at least it isn't Heath Schuler. Or Ryan Leaf.

Remember Kurt Warner? He went from third string to starter in less than a month due to injuries, and that didn't work out too badly for the Rams, now did it?

I'm not saying that Iowa boys have some kind of karma that allows them to step up to the plate & lead teams to Super Bowls, but if called upon, he will perform adequately.

The one thing that always frustrated me about Sage from three years of watching him play for my alma mater is that he's always good for one "what the heck were you thinking?" pass per game. Most of the time, those passes fell to the ground (usually at the feet of a safety/corner) without burning the Cyclones badly, but a few of them did get snatched up on the fly & taken back for touchdowns. It would be less frustrating if he did that on a regular basis, but he's usually got a good head for receiver location. It was almost like clockwork that he would throw one, and only one, knuckleheaded pass per game.

I went to the season opener for the last year the 'Skins were in RFK stadium. T-Shirts everywhere sported the phase "In Gus We Trust" .....
