EIGHTIES FLASH IN THE PAN BABES
This weekend's feature: Danish movie chick Brigitte Nielsen who was the big, bad, blonde girl in Beverly Hills Cop II. Cinematic debut: Cobra. Best attributes: bus-stoppin' body, legs that seem to go up to her ears. Has not been seen in a decent flick since BHCII. The tabs reported she married hubby number six, fifteen years her junior, in March. This babe is dangerous. Approach with caution.
Posted by LMC at July 23, 2005 10:33 AM | TrackBackI was never a big fan of Brigitte.
Alison Doody from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, on the other hand...
Posted by: Bill McCabe at July 23, 2005 10:52 AMUm, LMC, you may have missed Brigitte's latest production, "Strange Love" on Surreal Life. IMDB.com doesn't show it either. Apparently she and Flava Flav really hit it off.
Posted by: tee bee at July 23, 2005 11:13 AMShe was a gross, naked old flake and sex hound in that and the preceding "Surreal Life" reality show. Blech.
Posted by: Bill from INDC at July 23, 2005 03:30 PMAlison Doody...
Time may have caught up to her just a bit, but that particular Irish lass was a treat for the eyes whether she was working directly for the Nazis or their successors-in-interest.
What's Alison Doody got to do with Brigitte Nielsen? Nothing, but Miss Doody ran around with Grace Jones in A View to Kill; Miss Jones probably fits in the same mold as Miss Nielsen for evil Amazonian woman running around in action-comedy films.

Heh, heh heh, heh heh heh.
Darn it guys, I hate being the contrarian here, but Brigitte's role in "Rocky 4" preceeded her role in "Cobra". I only know this because I took a date to see "Rocky 4" in a theatre during the winter of '86, and saw "Cobra" as a double feature with "Spies Like Us" at a drive-in with a bunch of my high school drinkin' buddies during the late spring/summer of '86. These movies are connected in my life because the girl I took to the movie in the winter ended up dating one of my friends who saw "Cobra" with me that summer after we broke up.
Posted by: Russ from Winterset at July 23, 2005 07:45 PMRed Sonja. I'd have to say Beverly Hills Cop II wins as her last good film; it's the last one on IMDB that I recognize ("Chained Heat II"? I mean, my god, that's got to be a fatal career move. The type of role you get only after Shannon Tweed's turned it down).
Alison Doody married some Irish millionaire and quit the movies, though she does the occasional stage production. Was rumored to be a candidate for the Eowyn job in LOTR, though I picture her more as Galadriel. Unforgettable in Indiana Jones III.
Posted by: The Colossus at July 23, 2005 08:04 PMRe: Cobra - Isn't that the flick where Stallone places some guy on a hook in a steel mill and forwards him into a blast furnace?
Re: Alison - Some guy named Gavin O'Reilly, an "Irish media tycoon" if the IMDB is to be believed. Similarly, IMDB holds that Peter Jackson himself offered her the role of Eowyn. Good Lord, what a possibility! There might've been a reason to watch TTT and ROTK if she'd been in them as Eowyn. Put bluntly, Alison Doody > Miranda Otto.
Oh, the missed opportunity, the probably breath-taking vista of Cate Blanchett and Alison Doody in one film series. I know we're supposed to like the culture of life and all, but blast it, this ruined a potentially great thing.
