This Is Cool
It's a geographical time-waster. Click state outlines and drag them to their proper location in the U.S. The program calculates how far off you are and keeps a running average.
I started off having to eyeball a couple of midwestern states, but eventually wound up with a score of 94%, an average error of 12 miles and a total time of 302 seconds.
How about you?
Yips! to Jonah.
UPDATE: Here's a version where the states don't stay on the map and you have to eyeball each one.
And here is the European version.

92%, 11 Miles, 223 Seconds.

96%, 6 miles, 282 seconds.
What can I say? I drew Colorado early.

That can be hard if they start you off with those big square western states. It is hard to place them dead on.
Posted by: The Maximum Leader at April 27, 2005 03:01 PMYeah, that's what happened to me. Colorado was a shot in the dark.
Posted by: Robert the LB at April 27, 2005 03:06 PMThey shouldn't show you the previous states. Each state should have to go on the blank map.
96% and 2 miles, but I only had to eyeball three of them.

The Africa one is no joke; Western Africa especially. The big ones -- no problem. But Burkina Faso and Togo? Man, that's no joke.
I'd do better off in a 19th century version, where I could just name the exploting European power. Big swaths of British Red and French Blue.
And of course, Belgians in the Congo. Hey, we didn't start the fire . . .
96%, 5 mi, 195 s.
Got Kentucky first, nailed it. Then screwed up Idaho. Bah.
What was the point of having Hawaii and Alaska anyways?
Posted by: TheRoyalFamily at April 27, 2005 05:31 PM92%, 7 miles, 304 seconds. Started with Missouri, where I lived for six years. Still hard to eyeball.
Posted by: House of Payne at April 27, 2005 05:46 PMOn the harder version: 76%, 26 miles, 402 seconds. Yee-haw!
Posted by: House of Payne at April 27, 2005 05:54 PMGot 100% my first try, a few months back. But I never duplicated that astounding feat. It does depend on the draw.
